Derek Michael Willard
Derek Michael Willard, 26, of Coral Springs, FL passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2016. Born in Boston, MA to Maria and Robert Willard, he relocated to South Florida with his family in 1997.
Derek was a sports fanatic and played basketball for Coral Springs Basketball Club for many years as a child. In recent years, he enjoyed boxing and playing a pick-up game of basketball. He was very outgoing and made new friends easily with his Bostonian sarcasm. Derek, a passionate man, had a deep love for the women in life: his mother, sister, grandmother and aunts.
Survived by his mother, Maria Willard; father, Robert Willard; sister, Erica Garcia; and nephew, Eric Turer, Jr. Also left to cherish his memory are his paternal grandmother, Elsie Tomlinson; aunts, Sandra Willard, Lea South, and Ellen DeAngelis; uncles, James Willard, Robert Barrett, John Barrett, Michael Barrett and George Barrett; along with numerous cousins. Derek was preceded in death by his uncle, Phil Barrett and grandfather, Ted Willard.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:30 P.M.
