Obituary for
John Dikun III
John Dikun, III, 69, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on November 6, 2016. Born in Youngstown, OH to John and Marie Dikun, he was one of four children. John proudly served our nation with the United States Air Force during Vietnam Era. After his discharge, John relocated to New Jersey where he met and married his beloved Cheryl ( Sinclair) Dikun. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cheryl; their children, Wendy (Clarence) Dikun-Moore, John (Caren) Dikun IV, Mitchell Dikun and Seth Dikun; their grandchildren, Nicole, Allison, John, Brianna, and Kayla Dikun, Trellony Nixon, Abigail Todaro, and Zackary Todaro; and his great grandchildren, Cody Dikun-Bannister and Cameron Davis. Also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Marie; sister, Kim Sikora and Kelly Bourlier; brother, Mark Dikun; and nieces and nephews, Joe Sikora, Eric Bourlier, Nicole Jenkins, and Mark Dikun II. James Sinclair (Tricia), Charles Sinclair {Meredith), Erin Flora (John), Megan Sinclair
A machinist by trade, John once owned and operated Centrifugal Rebabbitting, Inc, before settling back into the sidelines of the shop. John's work ethic was unmatched; everyday revolved around what needed to be done at the shop. Despite the time spent working, John found immense amounts of time to shower love on to his wife and children. He brought Cheryl flowers every Thursday and coached softball, soccer, and football for his children. John was in the stands, with video camera in hand, for every wrestling and MMA match, too. John was, by far, his children's biggest fan. More recently, John enjoyed teaching his great grandson to swim and fish and attended his granddaughter's Broadway shows. He also found time to be a board member for VFW Post 1966. John passed along his love of the military and also taught his children the meaning of dedication to your family and career.
John will long be remembered for being one of the sweetest and kindest men one could meet. He strived to make everyone in his life happy and made sure that no one wanted for anything. He was truly a selfless man that loved the company of others. As a child, John was a protector of his siblings and loved to go doo wop dancing. His elephant brain never let him forget a birthday and always made sure to call his mother and sing a special song to her every year. His children fondly remember their father teaching them to drive a boat and was their "best friend."
Visiting hours will be held at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 7:00 P.M. John will be laid to rest with Military Honors on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 10:45 A.M. at South Florida National Cemetery, lane 3.
