Lawrence  Shields
Lawrence Shields, late wife, Louise (nee Pakovich ), loving & devoted partner to Rosemarie Valentine, father of Pamela Shields, Kimberly Homs and the late Jennifer Casale, Dear grandfather of 4 Grand Children, 7 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great grandchild & many nieces and nephews. Buffalo, NY native, Sisters - Patricia Hartinger, Late Janet Blaszczak, Late Florence Fitscher, Donna Whitmire, Lucille Hughes, and Brothers James (Joan) Shields, Late Charles Shields. He was an active member of the Elks #2463, Moose #2267, American Legion #157 & Am Vets #1939. He was the Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Elks Lodge #2463. He served on the Navy ship USS Missouri during the Korean War, a Buffalo police officer and served as Master mechanic on Fishers Island, NY. He helped establish the FL Elks Youth Group, volunteered for Toys for Tots & played the role of Santa Claus for many years. He brought Buffalo's famous foods to the lodges to show off his home towns favorites such as Roast Beef on Weck, Sponge Candy, Sahlen Hotdogs & Ted's Hot Dog Sauce. He made & created many artistic cakes for all occasions for the lodges, family & friends. He touched the hearts of anyone who knew him. He will be missed by all.
