Obituary for
Jane Belcore
Jane Belcore, age 73 of Evanston, IL and Coconut Creek, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 27 at Kindred Hospital South Florida-Hollywood. She was born to the late Kevin and Vernice Keenan on March 31, 1944.
Jane grew up in Lake Forest, IL and attended Lake Forest High School and later Ripon College in Ripon, WI where she majored in French. She spent the majority of her professional career working as a market and social researcher for NORC, Abt Associates, Simmons Research and Research Triangle Institute.
She loved being a mother to Becky, Brian and Barbara and also found great joy in being a grandmother to Keira, Eoin and Zuri, all of whom called her “Beautiful Grandma Jane,” per Jane’s request.
Jane was well-known for her quick wit and ability to make people from all walks of life laugh. She greatly enjoyed cooking and attending concerts and musicals with her brother, Jim Keenan and participating in gatherings with the Lake Forest High School class of 1962. She loved her pets and had dogs most of her adult life. Her friends and colleagues have often described her as a warm loving free spirit, kind hearted, a mentor and a pistol of a woman.
Jane is survived by her three children, her three grandchildren, her brother, and niece Jillian Keenan and many other relatives and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 13 at 2:00pm in the greater Chicago area with details forthcoming.
