Obituary for Rosemarie Argento

Rosemarie Argento
Rosemarie (Rose) Argento passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, at home in Tamarac, FL on May 21st, 2017. She was born in Utica, NY to the late Gaetano and Katherine DiFranzo.
Predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Joseph A. Argento and sisters Theresa Mezzanini and Emily Mancuso. Rosemarie is survived by her two siblings Vincent DiFranzo and Betty Cimino, as well as her four loving children Teresa, Marco and his wife Shea, Kathy, and Patricia and her husband Steven. She is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren Dominique, Anthony, Nicholas, Christian, Chase, and Mia, as well as one great-grandchild Samantha and many nieces and nephews.Rosemarie grew up in Utica, NY where her father owned a dry goods store. She lived there for most of her adult life where she attended primary school and nursing school. She began her nursing career as an RN at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica, NY. A few years later she met and fell in love with Joe Argento who she remained married to until his passing in 2010. They bought a home in Utica on Dudley Ave and started their family of four children. They lived there until the summer of 1976 when her husband retired from the police force and moved the family to Sunrise, FL where they purchased a home. Shortly after settling in she took an RN position at Broward General Medical Center. She became the head nurse of the Operating Room and worked there for about 17 years. She also worked in the OR at Coral Springs Medical Center for about 5 years before retiring in 2000. Upon retirement she took up many hobbies that she was passionate about; of them were gardening and scrapbooking. She also loved to cook (and boy could she cook)!!! But above all these things, anyone who knew her could attest to the love and devotion she had for her family. Rosemarie was a devout Catholic, with strong faith in God and deep love for Jesus and she instilled that firmly in her children and grandchildren’s lives. Rose was a woman with wisdom beyond her years, she laughed often, and loved hard. People gravitated towards her because of the great woman she was all around. She touched the lives of all of those who were blessed to have known her.
We are comforted to know that Rosemarie has not died but lives eternally in the kingdom of heaven with her husband Joe and those who have gone before her.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital or the American Stroke Association.
