Carl Clemencich
Carl Joseph Clemencich, was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 13, 1933 to Josephine & Julius Ceasar Clemencich With three sisters already at home, Elsie, Maria & Grace, a nickname for Carl was easy to chose and he became known as "Sonny".Carl graduated from High School in Brooklyn and attended Optician School. vb vCarl met the love of his life, Patricia Walsh, while attending a community dance.
While there was talk of marriage, that had to wait, as duty called and Carl enlisted in the US Navy. Carl was assigned to the Battleship USS Mississippi as a Sonarmanduring the height of the Korean War.
Upon completion of his enlistment, Carl swept Patricia off her feet and they married on June 16, 1956.
They were not alone as a couple for long, as God blessed them with five children over the next 7 years.
As they family grew larger, Carl and Patricia decided to move across the river to New Jersey to raise their family, where they lived until moving to South Florida in 1997.
Carl was a brillant, hard working man who worked for 3M company for 32 years before his retirement at age 62 . Carl spent a number of years building teams as a Plant foreman at 3M, and later promoted to Process Engineer due to his strong technical knowledge. Carl was also an entrepreneur. While working a full time job at 3M, Carl & Patricia owned and operated a successful Grocery / Deli and Catering business for a number of years. When Carl & Patricia decided to sell the family store, Carl started off on a new venture designing, fabricating and selling machines utilized in the slitting process of manufacturing. Carl was always willing to volunteer to assist his community, either as a Volunteer Fire Fighter, a member of the Elks or a Board Member for his Homeowners Association. Carl was greatly admired and loved by those that knew him.
Carl is survived by Patricia Clemencich, his wife of 61 years, and their children Kevin Clemencich (Freehold, NJ), Donna Clemencich (Margate, FL), Carl Clemencich (Allen, TX), Patricia Rigg (Margate, FL) and Barry Clemencich (Houston, TX), as well as his sisters Grace Confessore (Margate, FL) and Marie Giannino Staten Island, NY). Carl was preceded in death by his parents Julius Clemencich and Josephine Morese Clemencich and his sister Elsie Anarumo
In lieu of flowers family would prefer donations in Carl's name be made to the Veterans Administration
